Like many survivors of sexual and gender-based violence during Croatia's violent conflict between andAna has been struggling to deal with her traumatic experience for more than 20 years. In addition to dealing with the violent legacy of the war, many victims in Croatia remain afraid to seek legal redress or compensation, and are often stigmatized within their families and communities. Though the country of little more than 4 million inhabitants counts an estimated 2, survivors of sexual violence as a result of the war, fewer than victims have come forward to claim their rights.

Hope Harbor is a non-profit crisis counseling center that provides one-of-a-kind services to victims of sexual assault and their families and friends. We are committed to our community to affect social change to eliminate all forms of sexual violence, advocate for the rights of survivors of sexual assault and abuse, and provide specialized treatment interventions. The main office is in Bowling Green with satellite offices for additional counseling services located in Glasgow, Franklin, and Russellville. Restoring Hope was established in to meet a critical gap in the support of children and young people who have been impacted by sexual abuse. This gap was at the start of the recovery process. The Hope Programme has a helpline and support services for people aged over 10 years who have suffered sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse and exploitation. Services are free to clients and we work from safe and easy to reach counselling rooms across Bedfordshire.
